Excitement is building as we near the spectacular conclusion of the eSailing season, with 12 of the world’s best virtual sailors preparing to battle it out for the ultimate title in the Grand Final of the eSailing World Championship 2025 on the game Virtual Regatta Inshore.
This prestigious event, organized in collaboration with World Sailing and the Polish Sailing Federation, will take place on Sunday, July 20, as a highlight of the renowned Gdynia Sailing Days festival.
A Thrilling Season and an Unmissable Final
After an intense season of online qualifiers, the 12 finalists will face off in high-stakes live races designed to test their skills, strategy, and composure. The championship will feature eight races using the J70, ILCA, 49er, Nacra 17, Fareast 28r, Star, Offshore Racer, and F50 boats..
After these races, the two lowest-ranked competitors will be eliminated. The remaining 10 sailors will then move on to a decisive final race, where the winner will be crowned eSailing World Champion Virtual Regatta Inshore.

“Every year, the eSailing World Championship Final pushes the limits of our discipline. These 12 players represent the global elite, and their journey to Gdynia reflects the highest level of competition in esports.
Strategy, composure, and excellence — that’s what makes eSailing a true sport and a global spectacle worth watching,” said Tom Gauthier, CEO of Virtual Regatta.
“As a proud Gdynia citizen and Vice President of World Sailing, I’m thrilled to see the eSailing World Championship come to our city,” added Tomasz Chamera, Vice President of World Sailing.
“This event not only showcases the dynamic future of sailing through digital engagement and innovation, but also highlights Gdynia’s growing role as a modern hub for international sailing events.
I’m confident both competitors and fans around the world will be impressed both live and online.”

Compelling Stories and Rising Tension
The 2025 final is full of exciting storylines that add extra tension to this major event. French sailor Asere, the 2023 World Champion, returns with a clear goal: reclaim his title against a formidable fleet.
Among the top contenders are several returning finalists from last year’s showdown, including Sara Granberg (SGR88), Lorenzo Sorrenti (Lorenzo), Kazuki Miyamae (FSC-Kazuki), and Samuel Solano Lopes Junior (Harder) all ready to put their experience to good use.
One of the veterans, Asere (FRA), stands out for boasting one of the most consistent records in eSailing history. This year marks his sixth Grand Final appearance in eight years, including five in a row and one title. Lorenzo (ITA) also continues to impress, qualifying for his third consecutive final.

Rising Stars and Seasoned Competitors
The fleet also features emerging talents and experienced racers with impressive track records. Kazuki will celebrate his 18th birthday just one week before the event, hoping that a world title will be the ultimate birthday gift.
Jose Godi (BRA) brings extensive experience, having competed in the 2023 Olympic Esports Week in Singapore, while FC RICH (JPN) is a former finalist from the 2023 World Championship in Trieste.
Cette finale marquera également la première édition depuis 2019 sans représentant du Royaume-Uni – garantissant ainsi un nouveau champion après l’échec du tenant du titre Arthur Farley (F7 – RS) à intégrer le top 12.
In a powerful display of determination and resilience, Kyrylo Dolhov (NaVi 767) from Ukraine will travel by car to the live event in Poland from his home in eastern Ukraine, committed to representing his country on the global stage.
Live Global Broadcast
The entire final will be broadcast live on the World Sailing YouTube channel as well as on Virtual Regatta’s Youtube and Twitch channels, ensuring that sailing and esports fans from around the world can follow the action live.
